About Doha British Academy
Doha British Academy (DBA) is one of the most established and highly regarded British curriculum schools in Qatar, serving over 1,800 students from more than 60 nationalities across its West Bay campus. Founded to meet the growing demand for high-quality British education among Doha's expatriate community, DBA has built a reputation for academic rigour, outstanding pastoral care and a vibrant extracurricular programme that develops the whole child.
The school follows the National Curriculum of England from Foundation Stage (age 3) through Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4, culminating in Cambridge IGCSE examinations at the end of Year 11. Sixth Form students may choose from A-Level pathways across Sciences, Humanities, Arts and Business — with an impressive track record of university placements at Russell Group institutions, Ivy League colleges and leading universities in Europe, Australia and Canada.
DBA's teaching faculty is predominantly UK-trained and recruited, ensuring an authentic British educational experience. The school places particular emphasis on critical thinking, collaboration and communication skills, aligning its pedagogical approach with the best practices of contemporary British independent schools. Class sizes are deliberately kept below 22 students to ensure individual attention, and the school's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team supports students with a range of learning differences through tailored intervention programmes.
Beyond academics, Doha British Academy is celebrated for its performing arts programme — with annual productions that draw audiences from across the city — and its competitive sports teams, which consistently perform strongly in Qatar's inter-school fixtures. The school's model United Nations team regularly represents DBA at international conferences. DBA also runs an extensive community service programme, encouraging students to engage with Qatar's broader society through charitable initiatives and cultural exchange events.
