Schools in Education City

Education City is unlike any other district in Doha — or indeed the wider region. Conceived and developed by the Qatar Foundation, this 1,000-hectare campus in the Al Rayyan municipality is home to branch campuses of some of the world's most prestigious universities, cutting-edge research institutes, a technology park and a select group of pre-university schools. For families who prioritise academic excellence and an intellectually stimulating environment, Education City represents an unparalleled choice. The Qatar Academy network, operated by the Qatar Foundation, runs several schools within or adjacent to Education City, offering IB programmes from the Primary Years through to the Diploma. These schools benefit from proximity to university-level resources and attract a highly international student body drawn from the academic and research communities based on campus. The area also hosts the Qatar National Convention Centre, Hamad Bin Khalifa University and the striking National Library of Qatar — a stunning architectural landmark designed by Rem Koolhaas that is open to school-age visitors and researchers. Living in the immediate Education City area is primarily possible through Qatar Foundation staff housing allocations, but the surrounding Al Rayyan and Al Gharrafa districts offer a range of villa and apartment options for families wishing to be nearby. The Mohammed Bin Zayed Road provides swift access to central Doha, and the area is well served by school bus routes. Families based here often cite the green, campus-like atmosphere and the sense of intellectual community as distinguishing factors that set Education City apart from other Doha neighbourhoods.
