About St. John's School
St. John's School is a secular, co-educational independent school for Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 on West 10th Avenue in Kitsilano. It was founded in 1986 and now has about 570 students.
It is an IB continuum school, authorised for the Diploma Programme in 2010, the Middle Years Programme in 2012 and the Primary Years Programme in 2015. Students learn French or Mandarin from JK to Grade 10, and beginner Spanish is offered in the Diploma years. JK classes are capped at 14 students with two teachers. The school has no boarding or homestay programme.
Fees for 2026-27 range from CAD 28,000 in JK to CAD 36,000 in Grade 12 and include activity and resource fees. New families pay a one-time enrolment fee (CAD 9,000 for the first child) and a CAD 3,000 registration fee. International students pay an extra CAD 8,100 a year.
