About York House School

York House School is an independent day school for girls in Shaughnessy. It was founded in 1932 by six teachers and has been at 4176 Alexandra Street since 1939. It has about 700 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12.

The youngest girls attend the Little School (JK and SK), which opened in 2008 and uses the Reggio Emilia approach. The Senior School follows the BC curriculum with Advanced Placement courses and Global Online Academy electives. French and Spanish are taught.

Tuition for 2026-27 is CAD 33,340 for all grades. New students pay a CAD 5,000 entrance fee, and textbook and outdoor education fees are charged on top of tuition.
