About Kensington Park IB School
The academic programme is built on the IB's framework of inquiry-based learning and international-mindedness. In the PYP, young learners develop foundational skills through six transdisciplinary themes that integrate literacy, numeracy, and conceptual understanding. The MYP provides an academically challenging framework across eight subject groups, fostering critical thinking and intercultural awareness. The Diploma Programme offers a rigorous pre-university qualification with Higher and Standard Level courses across six subject groups, complemented by the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and CAS components.
The school occupies a landmark building with extensive modern facilities, including a state-of-the-art Innovation Lab for robotics, coding, and design thinking; a fully equipped theatre with professional lighting and sound for the school's acclaimed performing arts programme; eight science laboratories; a comprehensive multilingual library; and a sports hall with facilities for basketball, volleyball, and indoor cricket. Outdoor sports are delivered through partnerships with Hyde Park and specialist sports venues in west London, providing access to swimming, tennis, football, and athletics coaching.
Kensington Park IB School holds authorisation from the International Baccalaureate Organization and is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS). The school is registered with the Department for Education, inspected under the ISI framework, and has been rated Excellent in all categories in its most recent inspection. The school community comprises over 70 nationalities, and the language programme is exceptionally strong, offering English, French, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese as languages of instruction or study.
IB Diploma results place the school among the top-performing IB schools in the United Kingdom. The average Diploma point score consistently exceeds 36 points, with a number of students each year achieving 40 or more points out of the maximum 45. University destinations reflect this academic strength, with graduates securing offers from Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College, Stanford, Columbia, ETH Zurich, and the University of Tokyo, among others.
The co-curricular programme is comprehensive, featuring Model United Nations, student journalism, coding competitions, competitive sports teams, orchestral and choral ensembles, and a flagship community service programme linked to the CAS requirement. The school also runs a dedicated Oxbridge and Ivy League preparation track from Year 11.
Annual tuition fees range from GBP 25,000 to GBP 40,000. The admissions process is selective, with entry assessments and interviews conducted year-round. A small number of academic and need-based scholarships are offered at the Diploma Programme level.
