About Vancouver Montessori School

Vancouver Montessori School was founded in 1972 and describes itself as the oldest Montessori school in the Lower Mainland. It has been on Barnard Street in Marpole since 1993, with nine classrooms for children aged 3 to 12.

Classes are multi-age groups for ages 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12, and all classroom teachers hold AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) credentials. The Extended Day and Elementary programmes are certified Group 1 by the BC Inspector of Independent Schools. French is taught from preschool, and the school runs a garden programme and an annual student farmers' market.
