About German International School Riyadh

The German International School Riyadh (Deutsche Internationale Schule Riad, DISR) was founded in 1975 and is located in the Al Bustan Village compound in north Riyadh. It is a German school abroad with kindergarten, primary and secondary sections, and holds the Excellent German School Abroad seal awarded by the Federal Republic of Germany.

German is the language of instruction. The primary school (Grades 1-4) follows the Thuringia curriculum, secondary students can take central KMK examinations after Grades 9 and 10, and Grades 11-12 lead to the bilingual German International Baccalaureate, which is recognised as a German university entrance qualification. Children can join the kindergarten from age two, and a fee-based German as a Foreign Language programme is available.

For 2026-27 annual fees run from SAR 32,288 (kindergarten, ages 3-5) to SAR 80,976 (Grades 11-12), excluding VAT. The admission fee, deposit and exam fees are extra.
