About Platanus Schule Berlin

Platanus Schule Berlin is a state-approved bilingual Gemeinschaftsschule (all-through school) housed in a beautifully restored heritage post office building in Pankow. It offers Grades 1 through 13 with equal German-English immersion, using subject teaching distributed evenly across both languages throughout the entire school career.

The school applies an income-based fee model with a minimum monthly parental contribution of €100, making genuinely bilingual private schooling accessible to Berlin families of varied backgrounds. The curriculum emphasises mathematics and natural sciences alongside language development, with a strong ethos of community and collaborative learning.

Platanus is particularly valued by Berlin families who want a long-term, stable bilingual environment without the high costs of fully international schools. Graduates earn the full German Abitur and leave with near-native English fluency developed over 13 years of daily immersion instruction.
