About Sharjah English School

Sharjah English School is a not-for-profit British curriculum school on Meliha Road, opposite University City. It was established in 1974 as a primary school and added its secondary school in 2005. Today it teaches about 1,000 students aged 3 to 18.

Teaching follows the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum for England, leading to GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level examinations with the AQA and Pearson Edexcel boards. Students can also take the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. The school was judged outstanding across all standards in its 2024 British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection, is a member of COBIS and BSME, and is rated Very Good by the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), which has also named it a Beacon school.
